I’m a college student, age 19.

I might not get an internship this summer. It’s up in the air. Rather than looking at going back to the grocery store where I worked last summer, I thought I’d look for a job that involves either writing or skills on the computer, such as proficiency with Microsoft, Adobe products, or the ability to run or moderate a website. I am a political science and creative writing (screenwriting) double major, so that part’s pretty much useless. Most of the jobs I’ve seen online require 2 years experience in the given fields. I’m wondering what the most basic jobs are that involve writing, etc., so that I might gain that experience, or what types of jobs I’m forgetting here, where to look, etc., and thanks for any suggestions, I know it’s not the easiest field to just work in, even if you are planning on working for free. I’m also curious how someone without a completed degree could go about proving their proficiency/skills. A previous blessing has come back to haunt me: I got the support to be a full time student for quite a while without having to work, so my total work experience is about half a year! It’s frustrating to have learned what I need to know for many of these jobs, but not be able to prove it on a resume or application without lying or just blatantly promising that I can do it.

And yes, I am aware some of the above sentences are probably structured improperly. It’s not how I would write at work!
